Above all else, my perfect storm reminded me to create a new adventure. Life’s twists and turns can take you to new places and open up your mind to a world of new possibilities if you are curious and take an adventurous approach.

I refocused on the simple things that make me happy. I realised happiness was the new success.

I discovered it was time to really get out of my comfort zone and make life happen now. There’s no point in waiting for the weekend, for summer, for retirement…

Focusing in on adventure in my own life, enabled me to have the capacity to help other people to have that too.

My advice to you – Packing your own mental fitness kitbag.

I learned about the importance of packing MY mental fitness kitbag with the tools to take care of myself and to keep ME fuelled up for life’s big adventure.

I was reminded that I already have the resources I needed to sustain me. I’ve always known this. I talk a lot about journeys, and this has been a really interesting journey for me. In truth I’ve really enjoyed the ride!

Sometimes on journeys you deal with beautiful paths and you can smell the flowers and enjoy the view. At other times you deal with the thistles, nettles and the potholes. What happens when things get uncomfortable is you develop strategies to get through the jaggy spikes and you always get through the other end.

Sometimes you just have to pack a mental fitness kitbag.
